4 interesting wines for buyers to consider from the Ortiz winery in the province of Badajoz.
Family run company founded in 1940, now being the third generation in charge with Jose Ortiz as the master of the winery.
Our vineyards enjoy the average height of 520 mts above the sea level, in different areas of DO Ribera del Guadiana. Dry continental climate, with high temperatures in summer, and a scarce total yearly rainfall of 350 to 450mm.
Our main variety in reds is the excellent Tempranillo, complemented with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with the white Pardina, Cayetana and Macabeu.
Both unoaked and aged wines are elaborated, displayed in several wine groups, i.e. within DO Ribera del Guadiana, VIÑA ROJA, SEÑORIO DE ORAN, CASTILLO DE FERIA, and winthin VdT de Extremadura CASTILLO DE NAOS and CHARNECAL.
